Most investors never write down why they bought, so they can't learn from what worked. StoqPulse's decision journal timestamps every buy, trim, sell, or watch call alongside your thesis, a 1–10 conviction score, and an optional target price. It also snapshots the price and composite score at the moment you log it — so reviewing the outcome later is honest, not hindsight.

Log the decision while the thesis is fresh

Open the modal from the Decisions page or straight from any stock's Analysis view. Pick the action — Buy, Trim, Sell, or Watch — set conviction on a 1–10 slider, add an optional target price, and write the thesis that justifies the move. Logging from a stock view locks the ticker and pulls in the live snapshot automatically, so the record reflects exactly what you were looking at. Every entry is timestamped in your own timezone and saved privately to your account.

Snapshot price and score at decision time

When you log a decision from a stock's Analysis page, StoqPulse captures the price and the composite multi-factor score as they stood that moment. That snapshot is the anchor for review later: you can see what the stock was worth and how it scored when conviction was high, not just where it sits today. It turns a vague memory into a measurable starting point — the difference between guessing and grading.

Review outcomes and grade your calls

Open decisions carry a Review action. When the thesis plays out — or doesn't — mark it Correct, Partial, or Incorrect. The entry moves from Open to Reviewed with a dated outcome, so your journal becomes a track record instead of a pile of notes. Over time you see whether your high-conviction calls actually earned their conviction, which actions you tend to get right, and where your process leaks.

News that challenges your open theses

The built-in news monitor scans recent headlines against your holdings and open decisions and flags material items as High impact or Watch, each with a short summary and a research note on what it means for your thesis. Alerts surface on the Decisions page and in your notification bell, and every journal row links to the matched article — or the ticker's news feed — so a thesis-breaking story doesn't slip past you. AI-generated context, clearly labelled, never an instruction to trade.

Search, filter, and find any past call

The journal loads your full history newest-first. Search by ticker or thesis text, filter by action (Buy, Trim, Sell, Watch) and status (Open, Reviewed, Closed), and page through 10, 25, or 50 rows at a time. Each row shows the action pill, conviction out of 10, status or outcome, date, and a two-line thesis preview. Edit any entry in place to refine a thesis or adjust conviction as your view evolves.

Your journal grounds the AI analysis

Your recent decisions feed StoqPulse's grounded Ask-AI feature as context, so when you ask about a position the assistant can reference what you already decided and why. The journal isn't a silo — it connects to the rest of your research workflow, from the composite score and risk metrics that informed the call to the AI that helps you pressure-test it. One honest record of intent, reused everywhere it's useful.

Frequently asked questions

Every entry captures the ticker, an action (Buy, Trim, Sell, or Watch), a conviction score from 1 to 10, your written thesis, and an optional target price. When you log from a stock's Analysis page, StoqPulse also snapshots the price and composite score at that moment. Each decision is timestamped in your timezone and stays private to your account.

Open decisions show a Review action. When you know how the call turned out, mark it Correct, Partial, or Incorrect. The entry moves from Open to Reviewed with a dated outcome and shows an outcome pill in the table. This closes the feedback loop, turning a list of theses into a graded track record you can actually learn from over time.

Yes. Your full journal loads newest-first. Search by ticker or thesis text, filter by action and status, and page through 10, 25, or 50 rows. You can edit any entry in place to refine the thesis, change the action, adjust conviction, or update the target price as your view of the position changes.

Decisions logged from a stock's Analysis page inherit the live price and composite multi-factor score snapshot. Your recent decisions also ground the Ask-AI assistant as context, so it can reference what you decided and why. The journal sits inside the same workflow as scoring, risk metrics, and news — one record of intent, reused across your research.
